Helen Keller Award

Lion Sam Sant received the Helen Keller Award from the Minnesota Lions Vision Foundation and the Bemidji Lions Club. The award is named after Helen Keller, who encouraged Lions in 1925 to become Knights for the Blind. Lion Sam, an optometrist with Sanford, received the honor for outstanding club and community service as a Bemidji Lion. Sight, Hearing, Diabetes, and Youth programs are the four pillars of Lion Clubs International.
